Protocols

The SCL(S) Protocols are a series of user-friendly protocols prepared by the SCL(S), led by its Thought Leadership Committee, in our bid to contribute to education, study and research in the field of construction law and related subjects, for the benefit of our friends, colleagues and other stakeholders in the construction industry and built environment sector.

The first of the Protocols, the SCL(S) Protocol on the Use of Experts' Joint Statements in Arbitration published in January 2026, seeks to provide practical guidance to assist stakeholders - experts, tribunals and counsel alike - in Singapore domestic arbitration and Singapore-seated international arbitrations, for the effective management of joint expert evidence.

In particular, it seeks to facilitate collaboration between experts, and foster a level playing field with greater clarity and efficiency.
